The Beauty of a Story

So I've had the very beginnings of my new essay up on my laptop for the past month. I have gone back from time to time to attempt to add to it, but for now, all I have written is:

"Words mean nothing, and actions mean everything."

I can't say that I'm actually suffering from writer's block more so than I am suffering from lack of freaking time and proper focus. I have the kids (5, 4 of which are still minors), and my part-time work as a writing coach, and my less-than part-time work within the hospital. 😊 So usually, the routine is to log onto the computer when it's time to start my coaching, as well as open my tab that contains my extremely unfinished essay with every intention of adding at least a paragraph during my downtime with my students. But, nothing. At least nothing past "...and actions mean everything."

I do know what the essay is going to entail. It will detail the desperation I still had for my son's dad after he broke things off with me after the death of our newborn. I know the story--hell, I lived the story-- but the story itself does not sell itself. It's the way in which it's told that will be the start of new life, or its ultimate demise. That's the misery and the beauty in writing an effective piece.

Arrgghhhh!🤯
